Uganda: Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga Concert Canceled By the Namboole Stadium Management

KAMPALA. The Management of Namboole stadium has cancelled singer Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga concert that was set for October 20, 2018.

In a letter dated October 11, 2018, Jamil Ssewanyana Mpagi the Managing Director Namboole, says the stadium has been pre booked to host two events, including a wedding ceremony on October 20.

“Kindly note the stadium has two pre-booked events namely Uganda Athletic Federation workshop from 15th October to 26th October and a wedding ceremony on 20th October 2018”, the letter reads in part.

He thereafter advised Bobi Wine and his team to select another date for their concert and then seek clearance from the Uganda Police Force, in order to host the concert at the stadium.

Earlier this week, Deputy Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, said police were yet to receive written communication from Mr Kyagulanyi and his team about the show.
